The
Sacred Music Center was established in 1977 to promote music activities
in the Christian music tradition. The emphasis at present is on organ music,
with activities including public concerts, lectures, extension courses and
master classes for organists, the collection of archival materials and the
operation of practice facilities. Its office, lecture hall, practice rooms
(equipped with the Arimasa Mori Memorial Organ and a practice organ, harpsichord
and other instruments) and reference room are located on the fourth floor
of the University Hall. The chapel organ (built by Rieger-Organs of Austria)
was installed in 1970. |
